NaSTA Exec Chair Update, Fri 1st Apr – AGM Items Requested

Congratulations to everyone whose entries for the NaSTA 2011 awards are now online at NaSTA.tv – the standard across the board is superb, and the judges certainly have a difficult task ahead of them. I’m delighted to say we have more entries and member stations than ever before, and the awards are sure to be a memorable night.

NaSTA weekend also brings the Annual General Meeting, and I’d like your input into the agenda. The AGM will play a large part in shaping the Exec’s work for the next year, and it’s the biggest platform to say what your station would like to see from the association.

If you have items that you’d like discussed at the AGM, please email me at chair@nasta.tv before Wed 6th Apr at 12noon – the agenda will then be published on NaSTA.tv later that day.

Do provide as much detail as possible – for example, if you’re proposing an amendment to the constitution (available at NaSTA.tv), please cite the relevant section. Alternatively, if you have a proposal for a NaSTA project (such as a collaborative programme idea), again please give as much information as possible – the more details available to stations ahead of time via the published agenda, the more opportunity we have for discussion and consideration at the meeting.

Elsewhere, if you missed the Development Skype last night, the full recording is now available – along with Andy’s Technical Skype from two weeks ago – at NaSTA.tv (station managers will have received the passwords via email). Chicka spoke at length on a variety of subjects, including finance, stretching resources on a budget, working with student unions and media groups, programming genres and more – it’s well worth a listen. We’ll be running further Skype chats after NaSTA weekend – thanks for all your positive feedback thus far.
