QuaysTV 2020

Introducing QuaysTV

Welcome to Quays TV, the hosts of The 47th Annual National Student Television Awards.

We really look forward to welcoming you to the “Costa Del Salford” in April, the heart of UK television.

We’ve got a really interesting venue right in MediaCityUK which we cannot WAIT for you to see, where we’ll be having a fabulous and glamorous evening too.

QuaysTV attended it’s first ever NaSTA Awards last year and we weren’t too shabby if we say so ourselves, so we thought, why not host one? Casual.

We look forward to seeing you in April,

Joe Wilmot
Host Officer

What to expect

Our weekend takes place from Friday the 3rd of April to Sunday the 4th of April, over both of our campuses. Peel Park Quarter, our Main Campus and our proud home, the MediaCityUK Campus. We’ll be putting on a weekend of hands on workshops with industry kit, seminars, talks, tutorials, group discussions, awards and socials.

We’re immensely proud of our location and what we’ve already got in store for you. Tickets go on sale for 1 week from Tuesday 14th January.

Submissions open on Monday 3rd of March and close on Sunday 16th of March.

Here’s a link to all the important documents you’ll need. These are live documents so can be subject to change to keep you all up to date!

About QuaysTV

QuaysTV is a university wide and free society open to all students. Based at our MediaCityUK Campus, and funded by our award winning journalism department, our members have produced content recognised by the BJTC, NCTJ, NaSTA, RTS and more.

Manchester is a thriving student city with 3 universities and plenty to do. It’s cheap living means you can enjoy a night out for less than a tenner. And, with it’s great public transport links, getting here and getting around the city is really easy.

MediaCityUK is an international hub for technology, creativity and development. The first place in the UK to get 5G and home to the BBC, ITV, Kelloggs, Ericsson and dock10, the TV industry couldn’t be any closer, literally.

  • Is there a submissions guide?
    • Yes, it can be found in the Delegate Files Folder, link is above.
  • What content can we submit for the awards?
    • The submissions deadline for 2019 was 13th February to 19th February, so anything created and aired PRIOR to February 13th will be acceptable.
  • Is there accommodation available?
    • Salford is packed full of hotels, airBnB’s and hostels. We’ve created a list of places to help you get started, which you’ll find in the Delegate Files Folder above. But stations will need to organise their own accommodation, and we strongly recommend using a site like KAYAK to secure the best deal.
  • Who should I contact in case of a problem?
  • Who should I contact about technical problems with the Online Submissions Portal (OSP)?
    • NaSTA are handling the OSP and anything technical related to that. Contact them on [email protected]
